Moments From My Days 1.0
06.30.2022I really like it here. I don’t know if I’ve ever liked anywhere as much as I like it here. I spend my days writing, drawing, walking, and dreaming up structure. Or visiting people I meet or going grocery shopping. Or taking the bus to Portuguese class and dancing until 4AM. I haven’t ever had so much social energy. Perhaps it’s because I feel like I can beam my huge smile and feel it reciprocated. When I get really expressive and my eyebrows start to bounce around my face, it’s matched. The people around me also get excited and suddenly everyone is on the edge of their seat, expressing themselves in full. I talk to strangers here all the time and they talk to me and are actually excited about it and actually get happiness from it. I rarely talk about work, rarely get asked. I eat so much tapioca that I must always sweep the dust from the cracks in my counter with my squeegee. I spend the evenings floating through the city and find myself happiest on the sidewalks outside the establishments with a Xeque Mate next to the guy with the cart with more Xeque Mate.

Waiting for the bus on Belo Horizonte’s relatively efficient Bus Rapid Transit system. I kind of love having to race through the stations to make it to my bus.
IM OBSESSED WITH MARKETS OK I really really care about them
Going on a hike with 250 of my best friends and everyone is excited about it. I was running off of maybe 3 hours of sleep so I wasn’t soo excited but I was excited enough. Especially when the halfway point snack was cake.
